GoldFellow® donated forty Miami Dolphin tickets to Kids in Distress so children served by that organization could have a fun outing. Clients of Kids in Distress attended the 2010 Miami Dolphins pre-season opening football game at Dolphin’s stadium on August fourteenth.

Rather than a top-down effort to reach out to the community, the GoldFellow® Dolphin ticket giveaway was engineered by GoldFellow® corporate employees as a way to give back.  GoldFellow® is a nationwide gold buyer and refiner of precious metals located in Weston, a Western suburb in Broward County, Florida. The company buys gold from consumers in all fifty states through its website, www.goldfellow.com, as well as through its cash for gold walk-in locations in Florida and California and through a network of professional gold party associates.  The company’s gold party division, GoldFellow® Party is often involved in helping non-profits and other organizations raise money through gold party fundraisers.

Kids in Distress, a non-profit based in Wilton Manors, Florida was identified by GoldFellow® employees as a local organization whose clients and staff could use an afternoon of fun, watching the Miami Dolphins play at Dolphin’s stadium.  According the the Kids in Distress website, “At KID, we specialize in protecting vulnerable children from abuse and neglect in a safe, nurturing environment where they can flourish. Whenever possible, we prefer to maintain and strengthen children in their family home; our aim is always to create a healthy, enriching, permanent solution for every child.” That message resonated with GoldFellow® employees who provided forty of the two-hundred tickets they had available, to Kids in Distress.

The attendees were provided with bright yellow souvenir GoldFellow® tee shirts and were hosted by GoldFellow® staff.

Thank You Letter from Kids In Distress

Ms. Cynthia Nigro

GoldFellow

Dear Ms. Nigro:

On behalf of the staff and the children we serve at Kids in Distress, I want to thank GoldFellow for its generous donation of 40 tickets to the August 14th Miami Dolphins game.  The tickets will be assigned to children in our emergency shelter as well as some who are served in our Kinship Program.

This will provide a fun outing for the children and what a wonderful opportunity for them to get geared up for the start of the football season! It’s hot in South Florida and we hope that our Miami Dolphins are even hotter.

Again, thank you for thinking of Kids In Distress.

Sincerely,

Mark Dhooge

Chief Operations Officer
